The government of Canada introduced a new Youth Mobility agreement with South Korea on May 23, 2023. The conditions of the agreement are anticipated to go into effect in early 2024.
Under the agreement, Canada and South Korean Youth aged 18 to 35 are permitted to live, work and travel in each other’s country under the International Experience Canada (IEC) or the South Korean equivalent immigration pathway.
The Youth Mobility Agreement will allow Canadian and South Korean nationals between the ages of 18 and 35 to live and work in each country. Youth will be able to participate in the program for up to 24 months per category.
기존의 워킹홀리데이 프로그램 중 참가 대상자 연령을 18-35세까지로 확대하고, 캐나다에서 해당 기간에 job을 가지고 일할 수 있는 여건을 좀더 수월하게 개정 (참가 규모도 4천명에서 1만 2천명으로 확대)
The Working Holiday program allows participants to receive an open work permit that will enable them to work anywhere in the host country to support their travel.
일반적인 job의 경우, open work permit 부여
Young workers/professionals: The participants receive an employer-specific work permit that will enable students to gain targeted experience in a chosen field of study.
취업 회사의 특성에 맞는 보다 전문적인 job의 경우, 해당 회사에 특정된 permit 부여
International Co-op (Internship) participants receive an employer-specific work permit that allows students to gain targeted experience in their field of study.
코업(인턴쉽) 시스템에 참여하는 경우, 해당 회사에 특정된 permit 부여
